Our own Psalm 105 - family history Psalm

Psalm 105 is a history of the people of Israel - from the entry into Egypt as a small people to the provision of food in the desert.   I decided to begin a history 'psalm' of God's work in our family.

Give praise to God our father!
He has called us to know His love.
Tell of His works and faithfulness,
for He has cared for us and called us out of darkness.
Out of families who did not serve our God,
who did not know His righteous ways.
As a young man, your father was broken,
ready to call out to an unknown God.
To find out if God would show himself real,
and see if His love for us can be known.
He answered in the dark of night,
he lifted me out of the despair of heart,
He filled me with hope, and opened my eyes,
that I might understand His Word and follow Him.

He provided a way for your mother to hear His praises,
to learn of His loving promises and Fatherly care.
He brought her a long distance, to a summer of learning,
took her from ignorance to a walk with the Most High.
He adopted her as a daughter, leading her in His Word,
teaching His ways to a growing daughter of righteousness.
He was her shepherd, protecting her from wolves,
that she would know His voice, and follow His ways.

These were without earthly fathers to train them,
no one to teach them how to live with God.
